Whew, this week has been a whirlwind! Returned from that business trip on a red eye (I think I’m officially too old for those games) to a crazy few days back at home. But I’m refocused on Mon Amye now, with a few great posts still in store for this week. Of course its Wedding Wednesday today, followed by some travel tips and a great recipe to get you ready for Saint Patrick’s Day later this week!
I know I promised some Mother of the Bride inspiration from the Oscar red carpet this Wedding Wednesday, and I promise to share it next week! But this week, in honor of the upcoming Saint Patrick’s Day, I wanted to share an Irish Blessing that we included in our ceremony.
We selected or wrote all of the components of our Wedding Ceremony, which made it feel very personal for us. In reviewing many readings, the Irish Blessings always stood out to me as simple, honest, poetic phrasings of love. We selected this reading for the very end of the ceremony, right before we walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.
I think the sentiment is still perfect for what we hope to embody in our life together. A life based on friendship, full of laughter, and always with love. I may be biased, but this is a beautiful way to send off the bride and groom with heartfelt wishes for their marriage.
Wishing that the spirit of love finds a dwelling place in each of your hearts today and always. Happy Wedding Wednesday!
