Wedding Wednesday is back! Did you miss the bridal posts these past few weeks? I love sharing them, and with so many weddings on the horizon for 2015 I don’t want to stop any time soon! But I also want to blog about general entertaining and non-wedding party planning. So let me know if you have a preference in the comments or send an email to email@example.com with your thoughts….
On to the business of the day: today I’m sharing all of my bridal accessories! Since we all know a white dress is a key factor for brides, its really the accessories that help shape your bridal style.
As for a little background on the rest of the accessories:
A strand of pearls were “something borrowed” from my mom, and it was always the plan to wear them along with my own pearl earrings. For some reason I never gave this decision a second thought – and when I chose the dress with the sparkly belt, anything else would have competed for attention.
I count perfume and lipstick in the accessories group, since they finish off the look. I’m nearly done with this bottle of scent now, over two years later, and every day I wear it I’m transported to our wedding day. The lipstick was a last-minute “oh my goodness I don’t own lipstick” drugstore moment the day before the wedding, but it has also become a daily wear favorite.
Of course, wedding bands are perhaps THE most important accessory of the day! And a shiny sparkly engagement ring doesn’t hurt either.
Finally, the sweet lacy bits with blue bows served as my “something old” and “something blue.” The garter was worn by my mother, who added the blue ribbon before her wedding to my father when she needed a blue bit. The lace handkerchief she carried was also adorned with a bow, because, why not? The handkerchief was her great grandmother’s, and it was tucked into my pocket the day of our wedding.
How will you accessorize on your wedding day?
