In any workplace there is employee transition. People looking for a change. I know that people around me have moved on for a variety of reasons: next-step career opportunities, embracing new phases of life, heading back to school, trying on a new city for size. All valid reasons to leave. Plus, no matter the reason, it is natural – people at a company will come and go.
Especially the millennial generation – and yes, I’m one of them – seem to be known for not sticking around. Post-recession it seems more acceptable to have shorter tenures on a resume. But are we doing ourselves a disservice with this habit? Or am I the dinosaur for willingly staying in my job more than 12 months?
