On Friday’s post, I alluded to planning some travel over the weekend. Now that our summer trip is (finally!) actually booked, I can share: Mon Amye is going to France!
Oui oui, its time to brush up on my high-school lessons and prepare to consume copious amounts of crepe and champagne, because my l’homme and I are headed to France!! We’re planning an epic journey: a few days in and around Paris, a trip through wine country and Provence, and finishing up on the sunny beaches of the French Riviera.
I know we are so fortunate to be able to do this, but in truth I’m working hard to let go of the planning anxiety and just be excited. Major reality check: travel planning is hard work! And that’s coming from a girl who excels at making plans. I understand now why people turn to travel agents.
Deciding where to travel, how long to stay, how to get from A to B to C, how much to budget for each location – these all seem like high-risk decisions when you’re planning a special trip. But I’m trying to remember that each long-researched, well-considered decision will alleviate stress and anxiety on the trip, allowing us to soak in the experiences together. And now that the major decisions are made, I can have a little more fun anticipating all of the fun details.
So, the flights are booked and we have an itinerary – but right now we’ll be sleeping on park benches. Currently taking any and all advice for hotels, activities, and can’t-be-missed sights in Paris and around France! Please share in the comments…ready, go!
